Plan

For one of the nation’s largest public media organizations, ArtRise Projects developed a research plan to explore the role of public media in the context of rapidly evolving technologies and changing audience expectations. ArtRise Projects principal Marnie Burke de Guzman conducted interviews with more than 50 Bay Area arts leaders, as well as arts producers and executives at innovative public media arts programs across the country. She presented findings to KQED executive and program staff to inform the development of a capital campaign case for support and grant applications. The plan was the basis for securing a $300,000 grant from the Hewlett Foundation for initial implementation of new programmatic and engagement strategies. Burke de Guzman continued to provide ongoing counsel to the initial project team and new arts service staff members regarding program development, multiplatform arts coverage, and community partnerships.
