WHO WE ARE
Founded in San Francisco in 2011, ArtRise Projects is a collaborative strategy and production practice which initiates and advises ground-breaking cultural efforts. ArtRise directs innovative civic partnerships, works with internationally renowned artists, and provides counsel to standard bearing arts organizations across the country. In this time of overlapping crises, ArtRise is particularly concerned with issues of adaptive management, as well as new modes of conservation, interpretation, and engagement that may provide an antidote to myriad environmental, economic, and political pressures.
From its inception, ArtRise has been guided by a journalistic curiosity about the role of art in society and a commitment to cultivating a holistic and thriving arts ecology. ArtRise possesses a rare fluency in how arts organizations function not as top-down entities but rather in reciprocal relationship with communities. As we face the related challenges of climate crisis, economic inequality and socio-political division, and tech-accelerated despair, ArtRise stands firm in its belief in the unmatched power of the arts to bring people together to imagine and realize a more generative, connected, and marvelous future.
Based in San Francisco and led by Marnie Burke de Guzman, ArtRise Projects brings together expert teams of creative and communications strategists, content developers, and arts producers. Team members have significant museum and media experience and share a passion for building new modes of engagement in contemporary culture.
